*laughs* You don't have to comment every time, hon. (It'd be nice, but we're not draconian.) If you see something you like and want to point it out--or, alternatively, something you dislike or somewhere we tripped up--that's grand. If not, don't worry about it.
Oh gods yes. To wake up to see this on the flist is awesome.
I love your guy's Kotetsu and Izumo and I can't stop laughing about the dragon friut thing ... probably because there is this show called 'Daniel Cook' on Playhouse Disney where Daniel cook goes to an organic grocery store and this chick is holding a Dragon friut and is explaining what Organic means with the phrase, "It means they don't have any poisons." Which insteantly brought out a Shinobi joke me ...
Seriously am loving this guys. And I am soo happy to see Ko and Zu in a fic where it is unsure what the status is. Poor guys.
Blah I'm babbling, but thank you for writing this :)
Iz and Ko's brilliance is utterly due to nezumiko (though I confess, I was the one who came up with some of the basics for their characterizations). We're glad you like 'em! (I'm totally in love with them, myself. But then, I'm already in love with four or five characters in this story, which is why it's so much fun to write.)
I bet organic fruit are highly prized among shinobi, then. Unless they like testing their immunity to poisons. XDD
Lovely chapter... but the dragon fruit... they showed up in my small town grocery store last week... entirely alluring to myself and the medium sized boy, but they were $7 a piece! So we didn't buy any, but now you've been waxing eloquent about them, and how will I resist?
Plus, I can tell my day will be incomplete without a version of the molten chocolate dessert that Izumo made, luckily I have a no-fuss recipe for something quite similar.
I have never had dragon fruit, but from nezumiko's description, I think I'm going to be keeping an eye out for 'em next time I am shopping and flush with cash. And golly gee, woman, you can't just say "I have a recipe" and leave it at that. SHARE!
*points up* Like Madi said, I have no words; this is made of sheer absolute utter complete win.
Yuugao being sex-twitchy is the greatest thing on the planet, right up there with zen-master Hayate (he so totally would be.) And *points and laughs wildly at cake name* MAD GENIUS YOU TWO. And, if I may continue babbling praise, Hayate being flustered by Yuugao? Yea, this is truth.
That said, this stuff also inspires me to make many Hayate/Yuugao/HayaYuu icons. You are forewarned. XD
A lot of the fun in writing this is putting our own spin on characters people think they already know. We're really enjoying it so far, and we're glad you are too. (I so want some of that cake!) Next chapter should, we think, involve Hayate and Yuugao meeting up--so perhaps more flusterment will ensue! Or not. We haven't actually gone beyond the planning stages yet. XD
As for icons--All I have to say is, ooooh, shiny and YES PLEASE! Many many Hayate/Yuugao/HayaYuu icons is ALWAYS good, no matter what inspires it. ^_^
*sheepish grin* I figured I should be on-time at least once.
Yeah, see, you make it all so convincing it is scary. In that kind of "attempting to explain The Great American Novel to a poor Engineering geek." But yes. Oh yes. Please continue to do so. And definitely, there must be must a-fluster. >D
For you, I shall make a "Zen-Master Hayate" icon. *nods firmly* XP So maybe you'll see a Hayate/Yuugao/HayaYuu iconset in chuunin in.....oh, maybe three months. Because phantom reviewer is also a major procrastinator. XP
OOOH please yes please make me a Zen-master Hayate icon! *begs with big eyes* I"ll evict one of the other Hayate icons and put it in its place if you do!
Haha. Orgasm. Oh I want some right now, major crave. Kotetsu is made of win, seriously.
"Do I look like your wife?" Izumo asked
Yay for Izumo and Kotetsu interaction! ^_____^ These two guys are some of my favorite characters. In the beginning, I wasn't sure about Izumo's characterization (mainly because of his manner of speech; he became rather... colloquial? Omitting syllables? Eek, it's late- point is, it seemed like his characterization changed in the dinner scene from the market scene. He's more calm and less playful. He became more defined from Kotetsu.)
I also love the fact that Yuugao was childhood friends with Izumo and Kotetsu. It explains her personality, growing up with boys and all. Unkunoichi-like, you mentioned, in the way she's very blunt and has little tact in emotional areas.
Another very good read. I look forward to the next chapter. ^^
Re: Ramblage. :DkilerkkiApril 3 2007, 23:37:08 UTC
beachlass shared a recipe that is somewhat similar to Izumo's Chocolate Orgasm. If I had the ingredients, I would be making it now.
Kotetsu and Izumo's winningness is all nezumiko's fault, too. I think you may be right in that Izumo's characterization is a little unsteady in the beginning, but we're basically doing this on the fly; Yuugao and Hayate are the only characters we've really worked on, so with the others we're making them up and improving on them as we go along. I hope Izumo eventually worked for you, though.
Yuugao's personality is influenced by her early friendship with Izumo and Kotetsu, but there are other (more significant) reasons. Stay tuned for further revelations!
