CBS? No J.J. or Prentiss next season? We're through. If Prentiss isn't cutting through the offenders' and victims' and good guys' BS, and if JJ isn't keeping everyone's shit together, I'm not in front of that TV. Period ( Read more... )

I don't watch the show but that doesn't keep me from being FURIOUS. How can they possibly be that obvious in their fail?

Ugh, and this is Crimnal Minds, too, where they really haven't been too bad, and actually given me scenes to squee over. This show is made by how everyone acts like a professional, and they've got women in the field, but my favourite parts have been scenes of the girls being all BFF and awesome together. Plus, Prentiss regularly calls people (the good-guy team leader, even!) on their sexist BS, which. I'm not watching if I can't have that on my screen. If my sisters (who think I'm a raging/radical feminist) think this is bad? You know it really is.

I've really never had any interest in watching the show (procedurals aren't my thing), but between the professionalism (competence is one of my kinks), girls being BFFs, and calling out sexism, that sounds like the kind of thing I would love. Too bad it's getting ruined.

Procedurals *really* aren't my sort of show, either--my sisters started watching CM, and I ended up getting sort of sucked in. It's sort of interesting in that it focuses on profiling, though as a crim major it can alternately make me LOL or cringe in horror. And there are definitely problems in the show; see LOL/horror, and some eps are ridiculous, but generally a steady show to watch.

The women, though. JJ and Prentiss, in particular, but I just love them all even more with every scene of them out for coffee, JJ being the big sis, Prentiss being awesomely ambitious and razor smart, and. Yeah, anyway, they are wonderful, and I think the writers have been getting more aware of the awesomeness they have with these women (although, you know, now, which just makes it worse). But, yes! And people mostly act like, well, adults at work, even though the team's obviously very close and rather family-like under the whole chain of command and everything. Arrgh, I am clinging to seasons 2-5.

I don't know about the second one, but the first? Barring the holy hell being raised by fandom and the actors, true. They started with financial reasons (which, they greenlit a spinoff that's apparently unpopular, and they have Forrest Whittacker starring in it, so duh), and gone on with creative reasons (which is total BS, because JJ and Prentiss are the two *least* logical choices for mixing up the cast). I can't even imagine my rage if this was a show I took seriously/loved (though, to be fair, I mostly loved JJ and Prentiss, and some of the professional!team). Arrrrgh.

Sorry, *barring the holy hell being raised by fandom and the actors having an effect and changing CBS' minds

The uproar has been sort of epic, from what I can tell. The actors are pretty vocal about being pissed.
