After nearly three hours of being grilled by Yarex on everything Zekk had seen, heard, smelled, and thought during every moment of contact with Joolu, Traest, and while otherwise in the base, the dark-haired man could barely remember what it had actually been like.
I liked that line. don't know why, particularly. just.. very perceptive, i think.
I like Zekk, but sometimes he seems so childish, and like Jaina has to continually maintain him..or keep him in check. But maybe that's the nature of their relationship? That would be incredibly frustrating for me at least, lol.

i think that explanation clarifies it a lot, actually. because i noticed it a lot more in this fic and seeing as how i haven't been keeping up with all the updates, it makes a lot more sense. i totally understand zekk's sense of pride coming into play, and generally i think that's what i find issue with in most characters that have that particular problem.. especially when you mix that in with s-e issues.
Okay, that's good--I'm thinking of writing a one-post short story set after this, so hopefully it'll all be back to normal then. Zekk's issues are pretty canon, but not always this blatant. In this AU, however, he was left stalled in the undercity and working at a nothing job, where in canon he screwed up but then actively worked to fix them, so they come in focus more often--they're both playing catch up (and Zekk's issues were part of what pushed him to leave). FaIC was more Jaina's issues and who is Zekk is; IYC is more Zekk's issues/who Jaina is. They're supposed to meet in the middle quite soon. (If that occasionally moved out of "sense", I blame my cold meds :p)
Yikes O_O That's a *huge* difference. Screw canon (George Lucas certainly doesn't care about the EU *g*), Zekk can't be *that* tall :p

Dude, seriously. I know she's short, but--it can't be *that* big of a difference. All the SW human guys can't be giants, either. I think someone just got giddy on their height-assignation power :p
I will never tire of these three snarking at each other.
Kyp/Jaina/Zekk banter is one of my favourite parts of this fic; they just write themselves *g*
I like how Jaina “casually” throws that into the conversation. ;)
