I have been talking about an Isra mix *forever*, especially since I have the longest iTunes playlist ever dedicated to her character and Isra/Gaffil, not to mention all those stubborn pb's. This isn't the story/playlist I've mentioned; I'm still hammering what songs work best for which part of her life, all in my characteristically lazy way. Still

lol, well, yes, but Ani DiFranco is one of the few singers I listen to who strikes the approximate right balance for Isra; my other character playlists don't have nearly as much of her music :p

As much as I love stories, my family is very musical, so I've always been surrounded in it, and now it comes out in my writing; for a character like Isra, in particular, a lot of these songs were ones that helped make a clearer image in my mind. An imperfect image, perhaps--I'm frightfully mainstream, sometimes, and spies don't tend to become famous singers :P--but a helpful one :)
Also, it would be awesome if my music!writing!otp got passed on--I'd love to see some of your lists, both for the insights and the music :)

I have a bit of a music obsession as well because of my family--mostly my dad--but I haven't really had much of a crossover between it and my writing, though now I'm wondering why I haven't.
