[Goroh was just sitting outside in what remained of the plaza, keeping to himself. Until he noticed it getting darker outside. And then the sun going black with a halo of light around it. Well damn. With his journal opened up beside him, he says the only thing that comes to mind, in a flat and complete no nonsense sort of way.]

Shit. That can't be

[Edward was just about to return home until the sky became as dark as ink. The sun above was hidden behind a black smog of some kind, then haloed by a glow of eerie light. It looked to be a solar eclipse, but Edward felt no wonder for this eerie scene before him.]

What in the world...? [Glancing over towards a man who stood nearby, the bard truly felt a sense of dread once he saw the fellow's expression.]

Is this common?

[He spares a glance at the extremely unmanly man speaking. Normally Goroh would comment on that. Maybe he still will, but not just yet.]

The hell it isn't. That ain't no normal eclipse. [Goroh is forced to peer over his sunglasses to even see as it is.]

[Edward frowned at the man before he took a second glance at the dark skies above.]

What now? A storm perhaps? This village cannot take much more...

I'd say this has "end of the world" written all over it.

[He wasn't exactly the most positive thinker around. However on looking closer at the sky... it wasn't flickering anymore. Was the barrier fixed or gone altogether?]

[...That is far from what she wants to hear from a friend's frequency.]

What can't be good?

[Well too bad.]

The sky ain't looking too good. [Understatement.]

[There's some rustling as Litchi goes to look outside. And a gasp.]

W-what in the world...?!

It hasn't done this before, has it?

No. This is new. [Why would anyone think that? Yeesh.]

No, it can't be.

Solar eclipses aren't supposed to last this long...

They're brighter too. [He can look at this one without his sunglasses without hurting his eyes. That itself is odd.]

...After that freak earthquake, this can't be a coincidence. Got a really bad feeling about this.

I'm going to go see if I can scavenge up some more ammunition. Lost most of mine when the building collapsed. ...You want any other weapons if I can find them?

You might have a point, Dave. The barrier ain't flickering anymore either.

I've got my sword and my blaster still. I'm good to go.

Eclipses can vary from world to world... [ a pause. ] Has anything like this ever happened before?

Pretty sure this is new. Besides, I've seen a dozen eclipses on a dozen worlds. They don't last this long.

Would depend on the cycles, but there's nothing about this world's cycle that would indicate one of this length.

New's not necessarily good. [ uneasy sigh. ]

Probably the end of the world kind of situation.

Or a holographic projection on the barrier.

That would be the understatement of the year.

Assuming we all don't die, I'll be expecting a trophy.

An "Understatement of the Year" trophy? Is that really something to be happy about?

There's so few things to be happy about now. Might as well make this one of them.
