I've noticed that in the first episode and then in The Ringer (and probably on other occasions), Mick uses a lamp and a torch respectively. As for the levitating, both instances you cite, you use the word 'down'. I think Mick has already shown this leaping ability, both down and up. Also he leaps up to save Morgaline from the car in ep 10, yes? I took him literally--that he meant he could not fly around like Superman (or a bat!) but he can be (as you say) preternaturally quick and can leap upwards and fall (safely) downwards way beyond even an athletic human's ability.
If that makes sense. Or maybe I've misunderstood you? I guess what I was trying to say was that I thought Lola and Coraline were just doing the same kinds of super-quick leaps and falls that Mick does.

But Lola... she was leaping down towards Mick and then seemed to... swoop, for want of a better term over him. I've been trying to think of it in terms of her just being that fast but the Superman quote does seem a bit on the spoilers in plain sight side because most people watching a vampire show rarely expect the to fly - unless the vampire in question is Dracula and he's turning into a bat.
Dunno, just struck me as a bit in-jokey at the time. They might just be referencing The Lost Boys, or something.

Lola's swoop is probalby a consistancy goofup on their part, goin for the dramatic picture.
Did that make it as clear as mud?

When Mick used a flashlight the first thing I though was "Hey, isn't he supposed to see in the dark?"
I guess he isn't then.
