kusoyaro 's mockery of that book list I've been lazily looking for one that's not based on readers' flavour of the month.
Anyone have a good one?
I spent about an hour in the bookstore and picked up Jane Eyre and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. >_> I'm about 100 pages into the latter ... good times.

Banned Book Week is over, but that doesn't mean you can't read anymore :P

In the interest of introducing you to some good newspaper novels, William Weintraub's Why Rock the Boat? is worth picking up if you can find it. It's a bit out of print.

The Thursday Next series is pretty fantastic. It almost reminds me of Douglas Adams at times. It's hilarious and weird and exciting and there are dodos. And literary references- oh my. Jasper Fford is the author of that series.
