I finally saw Nim's Island!

Wow, it's been over two months since I posted last! I've been busy with family and writing, so some things had to give, but I'm reading my FLIST's posts regularly. Leave it to a special occasion such as my actually seeing a Gerry Butler movie while it was still in the theater, to prompt me to post! I feel the occasion deserves a formal review of

I thought Jodie Foster was supposed to be in this film, along with a well-known child actor (whom I don't actually know). Obviously I was wrong! There is just Gerard Butler in duplicate.

Jack Rusoe is a bit of a lame joke for a name but I'll cope.

One more week of school holidays left and that's the film on my list of things to do.

You know, someone mentioned that Jodie Foster was in this movie, as well as Abigail Breslin. But try as I might, I just can't remember anything about them! Perhaps the person who told me (and you) this was simply pulling my leg.

Newspaper film critics are like that. They always mislead you about films and cast lists.

I agree - I read Jack Rusoe and thought, 'They didn't? Not really? Oh, they did. *groan*'

Oh, I know! I keep telling my husband that if I ever get a voiced GPS for my car it has to have a male Scottish voice, LOL.

Seeing Jack’s wife engulfed by the whale was an extremely heartwarming part of the film, leaving Jack emotionally traumatized, vulnerable, and very single/available. All of the women in the audience breathed a collective sigh of relief at the conclusion of that scene and a couple even raised their fists and yelled “Yeah!” I heard it!
*sporfle* Alas, the movie reviews I've seen (all favourable, I have to say) have all been written by men, so naturally they missed its most important attractions.
