So I'm feeling a bit better about my braces, thanks to all of you! ::SMILES:: I think my main problems with them are that it's going to be my second time to have them and I have so many bad experiences related to them. But I figure that I'm not going to be playing dodge ball as often as I did in elementary so I don't need to worry about getting hit

I got my braces two days before fall break my senior year. Well, I didn't get the braces then. I actually just got the expanders. Which are quite possibly the most evil little appliances on the face of the planet. However, now my mouth is bigger than my mitochondrial DNA had originally intended, so all of my teeth fit. Anyway, I had the worst speech impediment. I cried. A lot. I was so miserable. I actually found the journal entry about the expanders. (and if follows

I don't think I can do Invisilign b/c the gaps are so big and they would pop off. I think I'm getting the ceramic brackets on my top teeth (they don't do them on the bottom) and then they're drilling little metal prongs into my gums. I don't know what they're called but you can attach an rubberband from the prong to a particular bracket and just move that one tooth instead of all of them. I think they said it screws in/out. If I'm going to have to use bands, I may not be ale to use the Damon braces.

I'm sorry you had to have an expander. ::Hugs:: It's amazing what we put ourselves through so we can have pretty smiles. I think your smile is pretty already!

And when I had braces when I was younger, my sister was chasing me around and bullying me. She had just gotten out of the shower so all she had on was a towel. I turned around and bit her right above her boob. She almost need stitches b/c the bracket got got on her skin and ripped a lot of it off. She left me alone until I got my braces off, then.
