Okay, I’m refusing to let this dim my pleasure at “Family Matters” being accepted for the Queer Wolf anthology, but I just got an email from Phaze saying my story “Wicked Witch” is just not for them. You can try to submit your no-go to another place, right? You may find just the right "audience". :)

It could've been something as simple as a very similar story being accepted just before yours was. Heinlein's advice for rejections: throw away the envelope and send the story out to the next possible buyer. One yes, one no is way above average, anyway.

I wish I knew if it was Phaze or the theme sheet it didn't fit since their the only ones I see that seem to accept f/f fetish shorts...if it was just this anth it didn't fit into I coyld send it to the Halloween theme sheet...I wonder if the editor would be irritated if I asked for a brief clarification on if I could sent the story in for another anth they are doing.

Why not query and ask if it could be considered for a different anthology? Better to ask first than risk annoying the editor. You could ask for specific info to tailor your work to their needs, too - the worst they could do is not answer.
