Wiscon Summery - Friday

No chance of writing today, my son is down with the flu, and after my daughter showed possible symptoms at school yesterday (still) I had to bring her home. For the good of all (except me) looks like they are home for the rest of the week. There were soooo many interesting panels this weekend I wanted to do to and couldn't. It was torture! More to come very soon. This was a draining, but full fun packed weekend.

The cat tattoo was grrremlinski, I believe.

I've always wanted to share tattoos with my sisters, but neither of them is terribly into tattooing at all--except that sophonisba mentioned awhile back that she wanted a Beatles tattoo of some kind...

She called it polyrhythmic drumming, I believe. She impressed the heck out of me, too.

I loved her response to the very abstract quote another panelist (or was it Timmy?) read: "her poetry isn't up to her ideas." It was great; I had never before questioned whether the beautiful ideas coming out of academia have to be so obtusely expressed!

Wow, a heroine! What an ego rush. Now I'm going to have to lurk on your blog all the time, hoping for the chance to make a useful comment. Kinda' like an addict, trying to get back that first high. :)
