Technicalities prevent me from saying 'yes'. ;) But I do think of him as my mate and life partner, and refer to him as 'fiance' when speaking to government officials so they understand the attachment.

We've never actually done the legal part. But we'll be celebrating our 7 year anniversary this Christmas!

We might go down sometime and register as domestic partners, we might elope, we might even let our families throw a party. One of these days, probably after we've got some savings to put towards it.

(eta: so, um, no? but yes, since I believe 'marriage' is just a word used to *divide* people these days.)

Funny, I've only seen this posted by unmarried people.
