Ronan had mentioned to her that sometimes making someone see something was easier than making them listen, and River's mind hand instantly moved to drawing. During the past months that had been something she claimed to have put behind her, seeing no purpose in it, but now there was a purpose. Something needed to be communicated and words were unsuitable.
Still, she needed another pair of eyes, someone who knew how to look at drawings, and she had handwavily asked A.J. to help her with that. The box full of pens and paints had been pulled out of the wardrobe, and River sat on the floor, surrounded by crumpled up sketches, all of them depicting a dark-haired girl in a yellow dress, sitting on grass with a book in her hand, immersed in a cloud of words and images.
