So it's Day 10 of this migraine, not aided by the two hours of sleep last night between mania and discovering another close friend of mine is gone. I'll post separately about that

I've been finding that regular massage (1-hour alternating every two weeks with a half hour tuneup) does wonders for managing my migraines -- more, I think, than monthly chiropractic appointments did. Sadly, my insurance pays for chiropractic but not massage. :(
I've now got one scheduled for Wednesday. CAN'T WAIT! (had to cancel it before for financial reasons, but took out a loan on my retirement plan to get me through med expenses this year, so I can now cover the copay)
Dehydration often leads to headaches (although not always migraines), so I've been keeping older water bottles all over at work so I hopefully remember to keep drinking
*nodnod* It's why I have so many bottles floating around the house, too. Especially with the increased dehydration from the trileptal, it's even more necessary.
I get occ migraines and have had ocular migraines. When it's bad, light is painful and unpleasant but smells are the *worst*. I'm in shock that you can do essential oils -- _any_ smells are utter anathema to me when I've got a migraine, even a mild one (normally not at all sensitive to em and have a very stink-prone profession that doesn't bother me at all). I hear ya on the coughing - misery.
Hoping yours ends soon.
Also re: BP. Odd Q, but does pooping help? I vaguely remember some side story in cardiology class about if you think you're having a heart attack, go and try your damndest to poop, as something about that process has the physiologic effect of at least temporarily lowering BP. (Just read wikipedia - this may not help you as the lower BP is a temporary response to the higher BP of the valsalva manuver, but there's apparently some truth to the story - but not helpful.)
I'm kind of surprised by the scent thing myself. It feels much like the sound thing for me; I can handle a single, well-tuned sound, but not discordancies or grating noises or combinations. I can handle a single scent, but not multiple scents interacting with each other, or many that are "grating" in various ways to begin with.
My migraines are most commonly associated with weather changes, and oddly it's clear high pressure that makes hit me worst, not low pressure fronts. I also suffer when I get severe tension headaches which then triggers the migraine. Temperature bothers me less than most sufferers I think, but I dislike sudden swings between extremes as they jolt me pretty badly. I prefer slightly cooler rooms to sleep in though when recovering
