Twitter isn't something I'm planning on using much as an outgoing communication modality (except maybe as part of political activism like #DearJohn); I'm too verbose by a lot for that to be very handy. It's a great source of links, though, and the major reason I finally started an account was so I could follow international political situations more easily when they blow up (like Iran and Egypt). As long as I'm following it some, I might as well also follow my friends who are more there than here these days.
Ah, the joys of continually shifting social media. Not so handy for a stick-in-the-mud like me.
