I'm sure I'm only about the 11 millionth person to point out that Willow is freakin' bi, not gay. It never ceases to annoy me that the show didn't take the opportunity to discuss bisexuality as a third option.
And as far as killing Tara goes, I wasn't annoyed about that because she was a lesbian; I was annoyed because she was the only non-skinny female on the whole show.

I wish they had, too, although I think in this case only the character can say whether she's no longer interested in men, or whether she still is, since that development pattern can look exactly the same for bi women and lesbians up to a point. As such, Joss gets to declare her a lesbian without it actively contradicting known patterns of sexual development. But yes, I wish he'd taken the opportunity and gone the other direction.
