Other than a dud or 2 promptly kicked off the curb, it's been 8 months straight of lovely things I'm watching, even if fewer to come by, catching my eye has become a formula of sorts equating awesomesauce on drama's own merits. I guess I'm finally wiser, maybe it does correlate with getting older and can hold off my nosiness checking out everything

You are watching Answer Me 1997 too! Isn't it just a darling, little drama? I'm couple of decades older but being a teenager is more or less the same world over, in almost any recent decade. At least in the more developed countries that is. So yeah, I can relate to these characters too. Show brings back so many almost forgotten memories and makes me grin, "that was me, right there!"
I also love the way they keep us in our toes with all these surprises at the end of the episodes each week.
About 'the shouty match in Saturi' - that's me and my dear sisters way back when, LOL! Poor mom, who was this ladylike, proper person and hated loud and noicy, got 3 girls who were loud and prone to shouting matches.

I was a bit hesitant because Tony Ahn, HOT, Kpop... is about all I know of that era in Kr plus a song or 2. And credit to Miss writer she's written sth so genuine from the bottom of her heart, I bet quite auto-biographical, that resonates with every one of us.
There are so many lil poignant surprises along the way and knowing these r the characters firsts and we're reliving our firsts through them....ahhhhh precious beyond word.

Yeah, I think this story is written from the heart, fondly femembering 'the way it was then', warts and all. Time tends to gild the memories but the more painful experiences tend to keep their sting. Sometimes they evoke a chuckle though as you take some things SO seriously when you are at that age. :)
Btw. Is Ghetto Justice worth a check-out? Provided it can be found with subs someplace.

There's sub for GJ2 for streaming http://www.dramacrazy.net/hong-kong-drama/ghetto-justice-2-episode-1/242888 HKdrama is not sth that translates well though, I glanced a bit of the dialogue and sadly it's lost all its vigor. The translator did a commendable job, it's just Canto slang and the witty word play on homophones are not translatable imo.
