I would definitely be that girl that said no and sat at home feeling bad about it. You shouldn't. Unfortunately people who get things handed to them might not understand where you're coming from but I'd just explain it to them. It can't hurt.
Oh and the cyst thing, on a personal lady note, I think there might be something wrong with me in that region as well. My mom has endometriosis and I'm slightly concerned that I have it too due to some things that have happened with my bod lately. Booooo. I sure I'm hoping not.
