It's pretty easy to get hired at EA, in Redwood City, out here, Bay Area, peninsula. I hear Sony's not too difficult, either.
I'd work for Cryptic. I'd work for Cryptic in a heartbeat. While CoH/CoV may not be doing as well as WoW right now, it's a very strong game with a solid fanbase (as well as being the only game I ever leveled a character to the cap in). The production is not up to snuff with WoW, but that leaves you more room to do awesome stuff.
Also, Cryptic has NCSoft behind them, who makes OODLES of money off the Korean/Asian MMO markets.
As for DVD authoring, you want software by Sonic. Sonic DVD Creator. That's the _only_ solution for professional DVD production, but it's a cryptic (no pun intended) when you first start it up. Sonic is the only software that's going to let you do cool stuff like fuck with overscan or do if/then scripting in your menus, etc.
