[OOC: Sorry, guys! This is dated to earlier than this, sometime after the Matoya trip, because I was kind of fail about getting it up, obviously.]

[When the Warrior turns on his Sky Phone, he's frowning at it. Not angrily, just deep in thought. It's a moment before he shakes himself out of it and responds. Even with the awkwardness and insults at ( Read more... )

Yes. She had hinted as much when I visited her some while ago.

She has spoken of this before?

Yes, although not in as much detail. I was not aware about the role of the myrrh in this, until now.

Then perhaps your questions did not lead her in that direction. It is... common of her.

So... We save the world, but the price is that we're stuck here.

[Excuse Tifa a moment. She's just had all her hopes dashed.]

What about... What about people from home? And the Gaians who disappeared to other worlds? Will they be separated forever too?

[And excuse him in return. He's talked to Tifa before, but now, after talking to Kain, he has disorienting old memories surfacing- but now isn't the time.]

If they are not brought between the worlds before we have finished doing what we must, then... it is likely.

[She closes her eyes for a moment. Cloud, Barret, Cid, Red... If they don't turn up soon, she'll never see them again.]

But it has to be done.

Yes.

[He does regret that it has to happen, but there's no other path. If this is what it takes to end it, he's ready to do so.]

Myrrh... So we have to collect it in these crystal chalices, right? Like those Selkies did...

[She frowns.]

No. I won't believe it, that we can't go home. Who says this Matoya has all the answers? If there's a way to stop the cycle, there's a way to restore everything. There has to be.

That is what we were told.

[If anyone else had told him this, the warrior would be much more in agreement with Rinoa.] Matoya is of my world. From what I remember, her knowledge is extensive. I do not believe she would lie about this.

[He sounds serious. Her face falls. Is this really it? It can't be.]

That... sucks. That really sucks. I wouldn't mind if I could be with all my friends but some of them aren't here and I know it's the same for other people too... There has to be something we can do. I mean, we didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. That's just not fair.

[He always sounds serious, but this time is more so than usual.]

If there is, perhaps Matoya knows it, but I do not know much of it myself.

[Congratulations, you've actually. Managed to get a negative reaction out of Bartz. It's maybe a little strange that someone so determined never to stay in one place would be so upset by this, but 'maybe a little strange' is a fairly accurate description of the wanderer in general. It's a minute or so before he fumbles dumbly through the pockets of his travelling cape, finally producing his chalice.]

...these things, right?

Yes.

Will you assist in retrieving the Myrrh?

[It actually. Takes a lot more thought than it really should. But he nods.]

...yeah. Don't want the world to get trashed.

[...Bartz, you are going to need some reminders of what a Warrior of Cosmos is, if this keeps up.]

Good. This spell Garland has cast must be ended.

[And no reaction at all to that news out of the knight. He's half-convinced now that he didn't belong on the place he thought of as home anyway. Everything he recalls doing, he's finding those four people replaced him.

And really, he can't leave Marlene anyway.]

Myrrh is- those traders talk about it a lot. I have one of the chalices that they say are connected to it.

Then perhaps it would be best if you assisted in it. There are a great many who have chalices, but the more who assist, the more quickly this will be ended.

[He frowns at this, stuck between two important tasks.]

Not so sure I can. I- Can't break my promise. And I can't drag her along with me. Maybe- should I pass it on?

I see. I do not believe that would affect it, if it were to be passed on, but I am not the most knowledgeable of the chalices.
