Several of the Luca city guard appear to be standing nearby as well, waiting. Across the water, the monsters swarming over the continent have reached the coast

Yes. Not all of them, but many. Some of them are quite large. I assume you will be able to defend Marlene, should she need it?

Good. She and Denzel may attempt to leave the house to help.

[Shelke had been intending to remain where she was, but seeing as the guards were already turning and running back towards the city itself, she was rapidly ending up on her own. And while she knew she was a decent fighter, she was not 'hold off the horde on her own.' She clicked off her sword and turned to move back towards the city as well.]

Wait for Onion Knight before you go anywhere. Some of the monsters approaching the island are several times larger than our house.
