[Edgar has finally managed to get his Phone back, after a great deal of haggling with the moogles to go find the thing. Fortunately it is the same one he dropped in Figaro, more battered, but still very usable, and he wastes little time in making a broadcast. He actually looks pretty good - not exhausted, since Lufene didn't insist on keeping him ( Read more... )

[At the ring the princess hesitates, however, upon seeing the identity of the caller, she is definite in her choice to answer.]

... This is Ashe.

[No title, no surnames. Simply Ashe.]

It is good to hear your voice, Ashe. [Edgar, too, dispenses with titles - even with her full name, which he seems to prefer for some reason. Maybe out of respect.] It's been far too long since we've spoken.

... It has been too long.

[Her voice is quieted, laced with a measure of concern. The last time they talked, it was in the wake of Sabin's disappearance and much seemed to have passed since then. The loss of her husband, Edgar's abduction at the hands of Lufene...]

Your ordeal - you are unharmed?

As much as I can be, I suppose. Apparently all the physical damage happened at Figaro during the attack - and after that, my memory simply ends until Locke found me.

And yourself? How are you faring?

[She's been making up for lost art-time, clearly. Her room is now completely covered in a half-finished mural, largely featuring kittens, unicorns and Interceptor. Relm herself is covered in paint and slightly giddy from a combination of lack of sleep, excitement at being able to paint again and (more than likely) too much paint in a poorly ventilated area.

Or she would be giddy, were she not furious. She motions to several algebra textbooks, already covered in paint fingerprints.]

A moogle brought these to me this morning. Explain.

You already know the answer to that, so I have no reason to explain further.

But I don't need to know algebra! I'm an artist!

You still cannot do basic multiplication. Algebra is your goal. Be grateful I'm not insisting on anything worse.

[He doesn't recognise the number, but picks up on the second ring regardless.]

Cecil speaking. May I help you?

Cecil Harvey? This is Edgar Figaro.

Ah, King Edgar. You're continuing to recover well, I hope?

[Phone Call] sonoffigaro March 6 2011, 21:31:01 UTC
Very well, thank you. I wanted to thank you for your incredible generosity towards me and my friends since the rescue. Being able to recuperate will help immensely once I get back to Figaro.

[He knows himself far too well - better to get all his recovery done not in Figaro, because once he gets there he'll hit the ground running and not stop at all.]

[Video] - Well if I can't pester you with the one, I'll just have to use the other! >D boomchucka March 6 2011, 15:17:40 UTC
[You mentioned Lufene and suddenly you have Selphie's rapt attention here Your Majesty. What do you do?]

You know... if you built a rocket launcher or two, we could blow Lufene to smithereens.

[What does he do? Answer with the exact truth.]

We are currently working on something of the like, but unfortunately many of our trials end up exploding about halfway through the development phase.

[Video] - Edgar's going to regret this. XD boomchucka March 6 2011, 22:57:19 UTC
Really? [The hopefullest (shut up, it's a perfectly valid word) of hopeful looks is on Selphie's face.]

Hmmmm... what're you trying to do? [Hell, Selphie would be happy with a catapult and a large collection of rocks to throw at things if the situation called for it. Which is... ALWAYS.]

[Video] - Whyever would he? He likes explosions! sonoffigaro March 6 2011, 23:13:19 UTC
There mostly seems to be an issue with the barrel. My world has ship-mounted guns and cannon, but Figaro did not produce any. We're having to redevelop our schematics from the ground up based on the technology available in Gaia. The proper powder to load is also proving difficult, though we're experimenting with various forms of charges that are remotely set off.

Well enough. What about you? I was worried when I heard about what happened-- I'm glad to see you've made it home in one piece.

About as well as can be expected, I'd say. Although part of me is grateful that I can't remember what transpired in that place...

[It would give them good intelligence, but for the sake of his mental sanity, he prefers it this way.]

And you? How is your health?
