[Kain has just stepped out of 'Mount Ordeals' to find that it's no longer there, and there's no return to it. He heads outside somewhere on the fringes of Troia to brood about that loss. As he walks along, his rage grows, and he tosses away the first thing that comes to hand- his communicator. It clicks on as it's thrown. The sound of his voice

[The Tycoon had just pulled into Troia's port the night before. Faris, being as she is, hit the town that night, and now, is up with the sun to go wake the rest of her crew.

...except as she's stepping outside the City's main gates, there comes a swarm of something on the horizon, and Kain's shouting over her skyphone]

Oh, hell no. [she withdraws her sword] ... [but that swarm is looking to be more than she can handle. She turns and runs back to the city] HEY! ALL YA LAND LUBBERS! GET YOUR SORRY ASSES UP, YER UNDER ATTACK!

[Kain glances over, upon hearing someone else fortunately around at this early hour. He stares some more at the incoming mass. His ultimate challenge was taken from him, but this one can replace it. ...though probably with some more forces alongside him.]

Alert as many as you can! Anyone capable should take arms and fight!

[Because from the looks of it and how fast they're incoming, there's no way they'll be able to get Troia's army immobilized and in place in time to keep the dragons OUT. He can only hope that those in the castle have heard his message...]

[Not long after receiving Kain's message, Rydia strides out of the castle with Edge...and beholds the sight of the dragon swarm reaching town. She pales at the size and strength of their invaders, but her pace doesn't stop or even slow down a little. Kain's cut-off message makes her worry for his safety and that aside, the townspeople needed to be protected.

Quickly, she withdrew another rod she had brought with her, enabling Protect and Shell to be cast over them. Who knew whem they would be able to catch up with Rosa or another White Mage to bolster them? After that, she continued, hoping to find the dragoon before catching the attention of the silver dragons. However, one of them took notice of the approaching pair and moved to descend....]

[Edge was but a step behind his partner, his smugness growing with the addition of the extra protection received.

His thoughts easily apparent on his face that these dragons would regret the day they attacked Troia!

Mid stride, he reached under his sleeve and let loose a shuriken at the beast in their path.]

[There's an annoyed grunt at first, as Rydia rouses to consciousness. Not everyone is up with the dawn.]

Huh...?

[She sheds that groggy tone as soon as she hears about an attack.]

Kain! What's coming?!

[Then a roar catches her attention and she jumps. That had to have belonged to something huge. Turning, she shakes Edge vigorously. If the roar didn't rouse him, this will.]

Wake up!

[Voice/Action]

Dragons! More than I can count! If you're in the castle, awaken Cecil at once. We've no choice but to-

[Kain cries out suddenly and there's a fearsome roar as one of the dragons has caught up to him.]

[Safe and secure in bed, Edge vaguely hears the low rumble of the dragons and Rydia's shout, but is still tired after watching her sleep most of the night.]

Just give me five more minu...

[The next roar shocks him awake.]

What's that?

[Being a morning person normally, Rosa is rising around the time Kain's voice shouts through the air, echoing both outside and through her Sky Phone. She shoots out of bed, quickly moving to wake Cecil.]

Cecil! Cecil, wake up! Something is happening!

[action]

[It's not a nice thing, to be roused from a dream of pretty dancers. But as his eyes open and Rosa's face comes into view, he pushes himself up, confused and groggy.]

What is it? What's happened?

[And he hears Rydia calling their names just down the hall then, already pushing the covers away and pushing himself out of the bed.]

[She's already out of bed and pulling on her armor by the time he wakes up, grabbing her bow and quiver of arrows so she's ready.]

Troia is being attacked! I believe she and Kain are already out. [Which means Edge is probably with them. Hopefully.

Once she's dressed and prepared, she throws her hair up in a messy bun so it's out of her face and hurries out of the room.]

Rosa! [But she's already out of the room and he's left to scramble with the rest of his armor; it isn't until a few moments later that he's hurrying after her.

If Troia is truly being attacked, he didn't want her out there in the midst of battle. He wanted her inside and safe.]

[Action - later, mass Healing]

[A few Holys had taken much out of her, but they'd proved to be fantastic at putting dents in the beasts. Something that bright and flashy proved to be distracting as well as painful. She'd had to retreat quickly, though; that spell was far too draining to use more than a handful of times.]

[A brief nap and an elixir had fixed her, though; and by that point word had spread of a white mage in the area. Refia was now set up in the main hall of the castle, a parade of wounded from the barely scratched to the near-dead being dragged by her as she healed them one by one. It wasn't full healing, unfortunately - she didn't have the energy for that. But she gave them all a good patch job at the least, setting them on their way to finish by the next day so they'd have an enforced rest. Men were incredibly stubborn; throwing themselves at danger just because they can. They were impossible!]

[Rydia limped into the main hall, not as wounded as some though thoroughly drained. She barely had the energy to stand, let alone do any more summoning. Blood dribbled down her sleeve and she winced every time she moved, thanks to her side.

The summoner barely managed a weary wave, pausing to lean against the wall. Her room seemed impossibly far away. Then again, Rydia wasn't sure that heading over there was a good idea. She didn't trust herself to take a cat-nap, just yet.]

[Looking up from her latest patient, the young mage saw a flash of green off to the side - and sure enough, it was Rydia. Refia frowned at the sight before her eyes; the summoner was beat up and bloody, and clearly needed to be lying down. But knowing Rydia, she wouldn't do that until one of the dragons did it for her.]

[Her complete Mother Hen mode was activated. Refia got to her feet with a determined, set expression, dusted her hands off on her robe, and marched straight over to the older woman, planting her hands on her hips and glaring at her defiantly.]

And just what do you think you're doing?!

[That expression caught Rydia off-guard; she was used to the gentle administrations of Rosa, who didn't often try to deter Rydia from her duties. She rubbed her temple, unknowingly dirtying it in the process.]

Resting...what, this counts....

[Action] takes place at the end of dragon week.

[Kain's headed back to the castle. But he doesn't want to rest despite others insisting on it. All week, he's barely rested more than a few minutes at a time. He aches all over and can barely keep his eyes open, yet still he forces himself to keep moving. At least by now the presence of dragons is dwindling

[More than ready to head back with the group toward the castle, Rydia frowns and pauses upon realizing that Kain's not with them. She steps back and peers around, just in time to see the Silver Dragon charge Kain. Her eyes widen. He couldn't take on one of those alone! Charging forward, Rydia whips out her Stardust Rod and sends Comet at the approaching beast.]

[That fortunately damages the Silver Dragon considerably, and it roars in pain as it falls back to recover. Kain looks over at Rydia.]

I- I almost had it. ...But thank you.

[He steps cautiously toward the baby, keeping an eye on it as he also watches for the next incoming attack. Sure enough, the Silver Dragon's already swooping back in. Kain winces terribly, but leaps into a low Jump, targeting the attacker...]

[Rydia peers at the baby, but whatever she's going to say fades from her mind the moment she spots the Silver Dragon returning. Since Kain is effectively distracting it, and a quick glance confirms that no others are heading right for them, she figures there's time to summon. Mist Dragon appears, adding its Radiant Breath to the dragoon's attack.]
