Alexandria has changed quite a bit since Gaia decided to give itself a make-over. The vine-like waterways, weaving in and out of the city, wears a coat of magnificent flowers in bloom. The most interesting phenomenon, other than the large elephantine like animas - reminiscent of a certain Queen some of us have unfortunately known - would have to be ( Read more... )

I'll thank you not to insult my mother in such a way. How dare you, after what you did, after how you used her...

And whom I marry is not your concern or business. Zidane is a hero, a man of honor, and that speaks louder than any of your veiled slander.

[oh yes, the little princess-turned-queen has quite a tongue on her!]

Keeping in mind that she had no problem disposing of you only to obtain power for her own greedy cause, I'm surprised you still rise to defend her. In case you don't remember, I didn't force her to carry out those actions. Why, all that behavior was her own doing. Such ugly desire could only come from a heart truly corrupted. I don't see why you're so upset about this. It isn't as if she was your true mother.

Perhaps what you say of Zidane may be true, but what you pathetic dregs call love will eventually wane. Such a union isn't meant to be, and even the best stories will lead you to the conclusion that drastic opposites put together will only meet a tragic end. I would be more adamant in my pursuit to stop this, but I would much rather see you suffer than end all the potential turmoil prematurely!

My mother was not herself those days. You didn't see the look in her eyes as she died on those shores, apologizing for her wrong doings. And you say she's not my true mother... no, she did not give birth to me, but she raised me and loved me as her own. What would you know of 'true' mothers or otherwise? It's not as if you've ever had one, have you.

Who are you to say what is or isn't meant to be? We love each other, and that is all that matters.

A truly caring, loving mother would have a problem with ordering someone to extract from, even kill, her own daughter, biological or not. But maybe you have a different vision of what entails a mother. How unfortunate. I almost feel pity for your future offspring.

[Recognizing his voice for the umpteenth time, Aerith speaks.]

Large elephantine like animals? What are you talking about? Has Alexandria changed too?

Why not visit and see for yourself?

I would, but I have other things to do.

Then to cut the story short, yes. It has changed.

What do you think of my handiwork, Kuja?

I didn't recognize your work, but if all of this is indeed your doing, then I must say I'm somewhat impressed. Though I would be lying if I said I wasn't clear on the end these actions are to bring; what is the meaning of all this?

You could call it a happy accident. It's a side effect of me removing more souls from Gaia.

Wonderful. Then things are going according to your plans.

But formalities aside, I know you didn't contact me to gloat. What is it you want me to do?

Not a fan of the royal city? I have to admit, the idea of sucking up to some stuffed shirt who wears a crown isn't exactly my idea of a good time, either.

There aren't any laws enforcing the rest of us to bow while in the presence of royalty, are there? Because I don't intend on falling in line if there is.

Not so much laws as it is common courtesy that is expected out of the citizens.

How droll. But at least there are a few that think against the masses. To think that the majority are happy conforming without a question or thought, like sheep, to a singular high command. Pathetic.

So you live by your own rules, then? Sometimes doing so can infect your reputation, depending specifically how your standards govern your actions.

Insults from a man too stupid to realize he already lost his war.

I feel just terrible now.

Is that what you think? What makes you so certain that the war is over?

Three years of peace was a pretty good clue.

And here you are with no army, so I'm not really sure what you're going to fight a war with, if you really think it's not over.

Sometimes the intermission lasts longer than expected, but don't assume the conclusion has came and passed. No; the curtains have not closed on this play, and we are far from finished.

Tsk, tsk, I'm rather disappointed you don't know me better by now.
