Why do I always feel stupid and incompetant after talking to Coby? It wasn't even my idea I was mentioning. Bah.

Anyway, I finished some more books recently, which no one else actually cares about. Angels and Insects which is really two novellas, Wee Free Men which was delightful, and Fragile Things which is really a book of short stories, but ( Read more... )

You should let me post about the books I read, too. That might be interesting.

Also, I didn't care for Rabbit, Run. Scratch that. I thought it was ok. I thought the next two were better. That being said, although I appreciate the series for what it was, I didn't find it particularly enthralling.

Are you still logged into my account?

I've never read anything by John Updike. I'm looking for a next book to read. Any suggestions?

Dude, looooooved the insects part of Angels and Insects. Loved loved loved. SO CREEPY.

Cool Job! Tender Romance! Butterflies! Incest! It's got everything!

next on your list should be something by P.D. James. I started with The Black Tower, which was creepy, and I think in the middle of a series, so perhaps not a good place to start, now that I think about it.

next on my list: Far from the maddening crowd. Thomas Hardy does a happy ending! CRAZY.

that is, once I dig myself out of the horribly depressing hole that is The Brothers Karamozov. Jeez. Not only is it long, it's also one of those painful foreshadowing type books. (me: no, mitya, don't do it! think about how sad alyosha will feel! no no, you're not that stupid! where the heck is ivan? don't fall for that bitch, alyosha, remain faithful to lize!)

So I was reading Angels and Insect and I was thinking, "This could totally be incestuous!" But then I though, "No, she wouldn't really do that, I'm just over-sexed and reading too much into it." And then BAM! Incest!

The second half totally made me a Tennyson/Hallam shipper. Hahah. I hope they really were doing it back in the day.

And when I say Tennyson, I mean Alfred Lord, not Emily. But that's probably obvious.
