The great thing about Edwardsville is the simplicity of the campus; even though most of the builings look the same it is really hard to get lost. The grounds are very pretty, wooded, and well kept. There is very little student housing. It's mostly a commuter school. SIUE is close to Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, and Collensville but does not directly touch any of them. There's not alot of night life in these towns, but Saint Louis is really close. None of these places have any decent art stores either. The closest are the Dick Blick and Hobby Lobby in Fairview Heights, but the Dick Blick is closing soon. I don't know alot about the art department itself. The art building is pretty nice, there's aways something new being shown. I think ceramics and 3-d design are pretty big. Every year students are allowed to put up several instalations/sculptures all over the campus.

I'm actually going to SIU Carbondale next year for Fashion Design. Over-all Edwardsville is a pretty good school, but alittle boring.
