Oh, I forgot to mention. Yes, that was the gift I brought from America to give to the family in appreciation for having me eat their food and use their utilities. It's a little space shuttle clock.
Not like you could read the moonspeak anyway. In romaji, it would look like this: "furari de kawashita chiisana yakusoku" which roughly means "the promise exchanged between two people".
Damn you people and your kanji-using skills! I need to go and buy a kanji dictionary, because I definitely can't afford a nice-looking electronic dictionary like yours, Tan. Do ya think it'll be on my required books list for next semester Japanese?
What I want to know is why Bolero out of all the possible musical pieces in existence? It just seems so random. What a crack-up. It continues to make me laugh.
It's kinda funny, because my cats invade my dreams in all hours of the morning, too. They're always up to some havoc (especially The Crouton).
So, you have the hots for Norie, huh. She's pretty, but why does she never join you for dinner? Is it normal for women her age to live with her parents (I assume before getting married and living with the man)? And are you on some sort of box, or are they just really that short?
I don't think a kanji dictionary is on the required books likst for any lower-div semester of Japanese. It might be necessary for Readings though.
A good question. Bolero is just so upbeat and happy.
The hots for Norie? sonna koto nai yo! Since when did I say that? I surely never dig through the laundry for her underclothes or anything!
...I should shut up now.
I'm not sure if it's normal or not for a woman to live with her parents, but I assume it is. She hasn't yet reached the latest marriage age of 25. She's rarely home for dinner because she's either at work or out with friends. Or a sexy Japanese man. I don't know for sure, but I can imagine.
They really are that short. Isn't that adorable? :D
You almost had me going. You should know I'm pretty gullible by now, and sarcasm doesn't exactly come across very well in text most of the time.
And I think you're right about the kanji dictionary. Thinking back a year ago, I believe it was a verb dictionary that they had at the co-op, not a dictionary of the kanji variety. Poop.
I got my kanji dictionary from the Barnes & Noble on the Drag what died a few months ago. It's Kodansha's Essential Kanji Dictionary and contains all 1,945 jôyô kanji and many combinations containing them. It was fairly useful before my electronic dictionary came on the scene.

That guy is creepy. Wasn't there any way you could cut him out of the picture =P ?
That's so weird! Your host mother is like I imagined. That was very nice of her to pose for a picture with your gift.
I want a Japanese host family that grows cute, little bonzai trees and have a host mother who will hold up my gift to them from the U.S.!

I could have destroyed Mr. Creep from the picture, but I don't have Photoshop on me at the moment.
