Today's exam is like the antithesis to my Modern Drama - a.k.a. psycho Überprüfung out of hell - exam. It's English-Canadian Film. I've taken two courses on Canadian film, own maybe five or six books on it, and actually LIKE the subject, meaning I read up on it ( Read more... )

Dude I feel like when I'm almost out of money I should send a burger to myself so I would be foodless for three days but then voila I'd have a burger.

Oh goodness a burger would be good right now... me so huuuuuungry.

*thinks* I can't think of a good Canadian film question right now, because I don't really know anything about it. But give me time and I can come up with something good...

Postmodernist themes in Canadian film? Who? Seminal films?

I honestly have no clue when it comes to Canadian film, or film type questions in general, so I just made up a question.

HTH.

Postmodern films... well... this all depends on how you define postmodernism. Some argue that everything we do arts-wise is postmodern just because it's "after modern"... anyways. Postmodern. For the early stuff I'd say something like Norman McLaren, particularly "Neighbours." He manipulates the medium PERFECTLY. For the more recent stuff, Atom Egoyan, with "Exotica." ...but it would take too long to explain that.

is "Porky's" still the highest-grossing Canadian film of all time?

Yes. Previously, this title belonged to Meatballs.
