René Joly, someone with a particular understanding of reality, brought suit against a number of doctors, public figures, and others for discriminating against him on the basis that he is a Martian:

Mr. Joly's claims in these two actions, and in several others not currently before me, all centre on his firm assertion that he is not a human being;

What I love about this decision is that it completely respects both parties, doesn't dismiss Mr. Joly as mentally ill and therefore not deserving of the respect of the court, and is pretty effin brilliant, actually.
