high waisted jeans

I want high waisted jeans-- not super super high, necessarily, but something that will come up to my naval, without being jeggings. I got a nice pair at Urban Outfitters last year, but they had a bit too much spandex in them for my liking. Also, I don't want to pay a million dollars, but I'm okay paying ~$70 for a good pair.

Ideas?

American Apparel is full of them, all around $40. also your local second-hand/vintage store since it's a look from the '80s/90s

I just.. have trouble shopping at American Apparel. Because Dov Charney's a dick. On some level, I have a feeling that shopping at a store that actually takes care of its workers makes up for that... but ick. He makes me cringe a bit.

Am planning on making a Value Village run one of these days :)

gap currently has a pair of high waisted jeans, only in grey or black though. cheap monday (sold at three monkeys) has nice high waisted jeans also.

I saw some at the Gap, but they were really Spandexy and skinny. Same ones?

they're skinny but definitely more cotton in feel than spandex so they didn't feel or look like jeggings to me. i didn't try them on though!

anytime i've been to jeans jeans jeans i've left empty-handed, BUT insanely awesome selection. american apparel is a moral transgression, i agree.
