A friend of mine is having a fundraiser for her upcoming journey to Romania where she"ll be trained to sing in the role of Olympia in the Brasnov Opera House. sorry it took me so long to reply! Her name is Mylène Bourbeau and she's got a Masters' in music from Université de Montréal. She currently runs a Baroque singing troupe called Canto Felice. They don't have a website unfortunately as they're just starting out so they essentially get a lot of word-of-mouth work(weddings, funerals, elvis gigs, you name it, they probably try it).

Now that you mention it, I should tell her to get a myspace, it's a great way to advertise. She dreams of working in an opera house though, so you can imagine that it's not like pop or rock wherein quantity and fame are central; it's more about experiences and who knows you in the OPERA world.
