Fixing my boots

Happy new year fellow Montrealers! I was walking home today and realized that the outer lining of one of my boots has a hole in it, which made my foot very wet after walking through all this snow and slush. Since the snow has just begun, I figure I better get this fixed soon so I was wondering if any of you knew of someplace I could get a hole like ( Read more... )

There's an awesome shoemaker in the tunnel between the Eaton Centre and Place Ville Marie. Reasonably priced and he's never disappointed. Just at the top of a set of stairs, with a brown sign that says "Cordonnier".

I'm not sure if you went or not, but my friend went today and he's closed until the 10th.

Yeah I saw that! but then the hole in my boot got bigger today so I just decided to go buy new boots. There was a big sale at The Bay so I went and bought myself some brand new ones that will hopefully last through these tough winters better than my current ones did. I'm keeping this place in mind for future use though so thanks for the suggestion anyway!

Most boots are on sale right now, so even if you manage to get those fixed you can get a decent pair for under $40.

My boots are new and even they didn't make it today. Leather if not well protected will suck in moisture a little bit.

I have Henri Pierres that are furry-lined and suede on the outside and I've worn them for 2 or 3 winters now. They look boderline teenager-ish but I've never had wet or cold feet in them.
Got them on special at the Bay for something riduclous like 40$ at the end of a season but he's usually around 150$ I think?

I also have leather Naturalizers that don't leak but on the colder days they don't really keep me warm.

I went to the Bay today and they had major discounts! I didn't get the ones you mentioned but I did find a pair that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Well, if money isn't a problem for you, order Sorel. I've had mine for 4 years now, no problems, and I could go diving with the penguins in them. They aren't horribly stylish, yet they are pretty comfortable. but its a good investment. $150. http://www.sorel.com/

For the amount you pay to repair shoes/boots just buy a new pair. Honestly.
