When I lived in NDG, I used to do regular grocery shopping at the Provigo on Cavendish and Sherbrooke, and if they didn't have what I was looking for, there is the Loblaws one block over on St-Jacques.
However, I also really liked shopping at Akahvan (also on Sherbrooke).
Lastly, there is also EcollegeY for excellent local organic produce, but it might be a bit pricy sometimes.
Blargg NIF NIF! http://www.nataliedee.com/071006/get-ready-for-chickenlegs.jpg I'm interested in this Provigo on Monkland. I miss so much about Provigo... mostly that it USED to be called "Superstore" and there USED to be a familysize/bulk section. Ahh.. the Maritimes. Enough clowning around. Let's get red wagons for the bikes and buy our produce at the market.
Looks like we can take the 105 to a big Provigo on Sherbrooke Ouest (past the vet) and there's an even bigger Loblaws/Super C just around the corner from that. If we get too big a load, we could get stuff delivered back.
I used to work at the Provigo on Sherbrooke and Cavendish. It's just a 105 bus ride away and it's quite large, with a good selection. You should give it a go. If you find it's not to your liking, there is also a Super C on the corner of Cavendish and St Jacques - walking distance from the Provigo.
There's also a Super C at the Atwater Market, which is just 2 metro stops away. The Provigo on Monkland is priced much the same as the Metro on Sherbrooke.
I tend to shop at the Provigo at the corner of Sherbrooke and Cavendish - and pay about $5 to get it delivered - this option is available from Monday to Saturday 9:00 to 17:00 as I recall.
