Another idea! I'm not sure what this would be called. Maybe fan etiquette at conventions or why other fans get rather annoyed when when you ask why the actors' characters aren't sleeping together

Oh, this, so very much. It's particularly troublesome in live action media fandoms. My first thought is: these characters are being played by Real Human Beings With Real Comfort Levels and it smacks of objectification of the characters. There are some actors who, for whatever reason, are just Not Comfortable with doing certain things (e.g., nudity, even partial nudity, explicit sex scenes, etc.), and even if their castmate is fine with it, it would not be right for the creators to push it. Maybe the actors aren't comfortable disrobing in front of the cameras, maybe they were sexually abused/raped and this has affected them deeply, maybe they have personal standards where they Do Not Want To Cross Certain Lines For Whatever Reason. I can think of a particular actor who has asked to have their love scenes toned downe, and I've seen said actor routinely bashed as "a prude".

Sorry for the rant: it's something that has crossed my mind a *lot*, since I see it quite a bit in one of my fandoms.
