[He quietly opens the door with his key, not wanting to wake Lindsay or Lucy if they're sleeping. Dropping his bag at the door, he locks it, carefully untying his Chucks and slipping out of them, leaving them at the door. Softly, he tiptoes over to the couch, intending to wrap Lindsay in the blanket draped over the back of it; he leans to kiss her forehead and catches a glimpse of her wrist. He sinks to his knees with a deep and shuddery breath, reaching out to gently run his hand from her shoulder to her hip.]
[Setting her tea down, Lindsay closes her eyes and holds the bear tighly in her arms. Gasping a breath she turns to hide herself away in Danny's arms and just breaks down crying]
[This is what he's been waiting for; he'll never leave her, never, especially when she needs him. His arms curl protectively around her, rubbing her back gently, feeling his tears soak into his shirt. Shifting, he pulls her to lie more fully against him, kissing her hair as he, too, cries.]
[Drawing up her legs, her whole body shakes as she cries, clinging onto him. Everything was finally coming out, Lindsay had her few days alone, and while she might still need some time, she didn't want to do it all alone.]
[Cradling her in his arms, he kisses her hair, still crying. This is what he'd wanted; he finally felt safe enough to let go with her, to both give and take comfort. They had both lost Jess; they had grief at her loss that no one else knew. He can't even explain how grateful he is that she's come to him, to cry in his arms.]
[tears spilled down her cheeks, her whole body shaking as she sobbed her heart out. How could she tell him, how could she explain how dead she felt inside? That without Jess growing inside her she felt like nothing matter, just so empty, nothing but death in her one fruitful womb]
[Gently rubbing her back, still crying, he holds his wife and lets her cry, relieved that this is finally happening. That they're grieving together instead of apart.]
[Slowly her grip loosens on him, her sobs soften and her breath becomes lighter. Hands slowly slide down his chest as, once more, Lindsay falls asleep, emotional exhaustion getting the better of her]
[He feels her breathing ease; carefully shifting, he swings both feet to rest on the opposite arm of the couch, arms wrapped around his wife and holding her close. He closes his eyes, resting his head against hers, and sleeps lightly with her, tears drying in shiny tracks on his cheeks.]
