Please be warned the mother's lainguage is not for the faint of heart. But to tell you the truth, had that been ME I most likely would have had a rip roaring fit and gotten arrested and still NOT let my child go....so I can not fault her for her ( Read more... )

It is unbelievable, and I think there was a better way to handle the situation.

However, what if...think now...what IF that HAD been the stolen baby? Say, YOUR stolen baby. I would be having a screaming fit if they had not checked to make sure. It is quite possible that a kidnapper would behave in the same manner.

My what if is What IF the person saying their baby was stolen was LOKKING for a baby to GET. Would they have forced the real mother to hand over the baby to that person because theysaid it was theirs?

I think the fault lies with the security guard who didn't handle the situation correctly. He/she should never have tried to physically take charge of the baby. He could have detained the mother and child until the police were called to confirm the story.

If I'd been the mother, I would have asked that the police be called immediately because the guard was acting from a MySpace blog. I didn't understand that the mother whose baby was kidnapped was there in WalMart at the time.

I know...who are we talking about here? My baby or yours. I would have been upset, too, for sure.

This world is sick. That story is awful, it reminds me of the video Randy sent the other day, but this story is horrible. I can't imagine what that young mother must have been going through, the sheer horror that she had to have felt.

I completely agree with you Audis. I understand the need to lock the store down until police get there if someone says their baby/child is missing in the store. But this was far beyond doing what was necessary.

For a Code Amber to be released in a store SOMEONE there had to say they lost their child. It scares me to death to think someone was stalking the young mother in hopes of stealing her child by telling Walmart "authorities" her "own" child was missing.
