Those questions were way too hard for most Americans. I once tested a kid we hired who had just graduated from high school and was bragging about being good at geography. After failing to answer what I thought were easy questions (name six or seven countries in South America or Europe), he was unable to find Europe on the world map on the lab wall, even though it said "Europe" right across it in big letters. For some reason he spent a lot of time searching in the southern hemisphere......
