I don't go to the movies that often (I'd rather read) and I always seem to go for the less popular stuff. For example, I'm also not a Depp/ Pirates fan either.

I see. I really frown on most stuff that's overhyped, but as an exploitation film fan, I couldn't not get excited about this one. I'm a big junkie of 1970's exploitative horror, because it seems to ring more true than the stuff Hollywood tries to pass off as horror. Even the new true exploitation genre-stuff is much too slick and derivative.
I don't know what it is with me and reading. I can read like crazy, and everyone in my family thought I'd be an English teacher when I got older. I read like mad as a child. But when I hit my early twenties I started watching more movies and reading less, because the average novel takes me 24 hrs. to read through (I could go much faster, but if I'm taking the time to read it, I slowly savour every page and make sure I completely understand it), whereas a film only takes 2 hrs. And a film most always sticks with me much more than a book (because I'm more visual), and I can spend years mulling film in my head whereas a book I've just finished doesn't stick with me more than a few days
