Fan wank was a guarantee after this one. I'm amused and yet not surprised at the polar opposite responses generated.

Hee! I remember that. The curiosity followed by revelation that there actually were fantastic writers out there, who just happened to write slashy goodness.

The wildly divergent responses are interesting. Some seem to think it means KRIPKE ETC HATES WINCEST! while others just thought it was funny. I took it as humor.

AGREED. The fact that they brought it up at all was a nod. And Dean thinking that it was anything but "sick" would just have been very unDeanlike. My only complaint is that they did not have the conversation illustrated by my icon. :D

And I think the fangirl publisher was definitely a warm fuzzy moment because seriously, we all fucking know we're a little nuts. Most of us identify ourselves as cracky fangirls. We make the effort! It makes it more fun. My only complaint about *her* was that Sam and Dean failed to recognize her as having died in a previous episode!

I'll be very curious to see if the mention earns us more fans... or more enemies. (Gasp! Where is drama!cat when you need her!)

PS: Found it especially amusing that the ep wherein the boys mention slash comes directly after the (practically) AU episode in which Dean is all scrubbed clean and pink and extra pouty and delicious and Sam corners him in elevators and ends up in his pretend apartment and they *aren't* brothers (sort of...).
