I just started reading The Time Traveler's Wife and I never want to put it down. Why has it taken me so long to pick it up?

It's wonderful. For weeks after I finished it I couldn't read anything new because nobody else was Henry and Clare.

absolutely, I found myself so consumed by them!

No, don't tell me that! Of course, I might be able to drag it out until I need to start reading for school again...then I won't have to worry about new fiction.

Have you seen the new Doctor Who ?
*warning*: It's kind of a love story.

I haven't...is it a love story between David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston? Because I would dig that.

Oh wait that will never happen. Although I bet there's slash written about it.

Perhaps I will check out the new Doctor Who. :)

No, but Captain Jack tries to shag the universe in the spinoff Torchwood.

I have heard about Captain Jack and how I might enjoy his exploits.

Do you remember what you didn't love about it?

When I first read "The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing" it just made me so angry even though everyone else talked about it like it was brilliant. Later I re-read it and realized that I'd read it in the aftermath of a break-up and so was very triggered by it. Also, the older man/younger woman/fucked up relationship dynamic always puts me on edge (I talk trash about the movie "Manhattan" whenever it comes up). But it was better on second read.

I'm not saying you should love this book. I'm just saying you may have been influenced by personal circumstance.

I think Henry just made me angry, and the sense of this "it's just happening to me" stuff that he went through...that, and the personalities, I guess I just didn't *like* the couple. I didn't LIKE the guy.

But, it wasn't the worst book ever, I did finish it. But I know that it didn't connect me, because I recall there being parts where as a reader I should have cried, and I didn't.

I am never without tissues these days anyway. So far I have only *almost* cried.

I listened to an audiobook version of it, and that was really good. I keep meaning to go back and actually buy the book so I can see if the reading experience is comparable.

Ooo, did they have different voices narrating Clare and Henry's parts? That would be good. I want to get more into audiobooks, I feel like it would be the perfect thing for knitting. I also think audiobooks would help me fall asleep more easily but I think I would never be able to figure out where I left off.

Anyway, my reading experience has been great, so I'd advise you to try it!
