Skoosh!

I just called the vet. She says Skooshy is "resting comfortably" and they're going to keep her overnight.

The vet does not like Skooshy's name and won't ever say it. Otherwise I like her.

Thanks for all your good wishes. I feel so terribly worried.

I don't know; I think she thinks it's weird or something.

They still have to analyze the lump to find out if it's malignant or not.

I really just want to be cuddling Skooshy right now.

I cuddled with Spooky, the other rat, and that helped. I think it helped both of us. She does not know where her sister is.

What kind of vet passes judgment on a pet's name?! It's not like she's called something awful. Skooshy is a very cute name, and perfectly conveys her 'rat'ness.

Totally weird vet. But what can you do?

I realized this evening that Spooky and Skooshy have never been separated, and Spooky seems all lonely and more sedate than usual. Poor little dude.

When I was a kid my mom was always embarassed to tell the vet the names my sisters and I would give our pets, so the offical record always had some boring name (usually the one my mom tried to force us to use).

I hope everything goes well for Skooshy.
