I've seen ghost bikes here in Seattle, including one outside my favorite coffee shop. It breaks my heart every time.

what a good idea. i'd love to see that here - except i fear that they'd get stripped for parts like so many of the bikes on college, or "bicycle grave yard" as i've often called it...

Some motorists have no respect for cyclists or their lives. Even though we are saving the planet. We should have lanes roped off with velvet rope to ride in.

Or separate streets that are bicycles only and make the cars stick to the main roads all the time.

Velvet ropes sound good, though.

In some countries in Europe, the bike lanes are set up so that there is a barrier between the motorists and the cyclists. Sweetness!
