I would say go for the first option. I also like the idea of the 2nd reference and have actually had the older campers under my care write additional supporting recs for me before but as someone who looks at applications and references and hires people for jobs, I would prefer to read the first one. It just holds more weight professionally.

it depends on the position you're applying for.
is it one you'll be training people for/in? or one you'll be talking more to people on a personal basis/care basis? if it's more of a "coordinatory" job, number two. if it's more of a "reach out and touch/support/inform someone", go for number one.

I'm listing The Femme, because she's done workshops for/with me, and I technically volunteer for her. And she can say good things about my knowledge and comfort around sex, especially in terms of disability.

Plus The Evil Nerd can vouch for me as someone coordinated by me as well as working with me.

good luck. either evil nerd or the femme will provide good references. you seem to be prepping a lot more than i for my interview. i guess i should get some references ready. ps, what job is this for? is it like sex stuff? very cool if so!

They asked me to bring references. I think that's a good sign.

I have been hush hush online about what job this is...but it is sex education related. Hurrah!

They want three references, and I have my co-worker from my old job - the one that really qualifies me for this one, the chair of the board from my current job, and I can have one more. So it's sort of either/or.
