The Dragon gave me this Lo-Han-Kuo square to put in my tea. It's supposed to open up your lungs. She claimed it made her feel high/stoned. So I tried it. I am feeling a little loopy. Kinda warm and giggly and light headed in a most pleasant way.

Could you just visit the yarn store and touch things? Or better yet, take a knitting friend with you who's just dying to buy yarn and knit things for babies!

oh i totally forgot to tell you that i have a pattern for that hat (minus the ears) for you if you want to borrow it. it's even c.late 1960's, so might be similar to the pattern your gramma had.

i'm envious of your manos cotton stria... that stuff is so buttery!
