This weekend was Dragon*Con in Atlanta, and
arrshley and myself broke out the Mononoke cosplay. Given the amount of time and sanity I lost putting these costumes together, I was very pleased with the results. People knew who we were! It was awesome

How long did it take to make? Was it expensive?

Well, I did both the costumes... the OS costume itself was very easy, it's a basic kimono minus the full sleeves. The MS kimono took a lot longer, mostly because I had to make the pattern for the sleeves, cut and sew all the different sections, and then applique the circles on top of everything. I also had to hand-dye the teal, because I couldn't find anything the proper color. The fabric would be the big cost factor--I was lucky enough to inherit a bunch of fabric just as I was beginning work on it, but I would say that mine ended up coming in at about the $150-200 dollar range, including the wig and make-up.
