After watching parts of the Atlanta opening ceremonies on YouTube (thanks to user julius923), I am getting once more excited for the Olympics, which are 379 days away. Though there are always controversies surrounding the Olympics - China's human rights abuses, etc. -  the spectacle, the moment, the idea of the world's greatest athletes coming

I definitely agree with you that it's a pretty overwhelmingly emotional ceremony. I think I'm going to wait for Vancouver in 2010, though.

Also, I think Williams' Olympic Fanfare & Theme is an incredibly moving piece.
