One Down!

After spending much of 2007 posting online in forums and on MySpace and LJ, and reading little (other than children's books) besides that which came to me on my computer monitor, I decided to read more books for pleasure in 2008. Before becoming addicted to the net I always loved it. I mean, how else could I have survived with no net and no t.v.

I've never been a big Oprah fan either, so don't feel bad. I admire what she's done, but I dunno...there's something about her that irritates me in a way.

there is a running joke amongst us english majors (well, the slightly pretentious ones like me and my friends) about the Oprah Book Club that while she picks fantastic books, it is rather humorous to imagine most of the demographic that watches her regularly try to read said books.
i mean, she has three Faulkner books in her little book club and The Sound and the Fury is difficult, even for me.

also, if you are looking for some recommendations, i've read some pretty great stuff lately. just let me know!
