I do like the way, despite the bizarreness of the case, you've kept them all in character. Lestrade's matter of fact "I'd have called you if we'd found a headless corpse" and the jibing, as well as John's sensible decision to stop at the off-license, speak really well of people just doing a difficult job - in a decidedly gruesome situation (your muse has a lot to answer for). And poor Hopkins!

Thank you. I'm glad the characters all felt in character to you in the situation.

You know, I wanted to do something fluffy and smutty with la petite mort, or something melancholy with "Every Day a Little Death" by Sondheim, but neither was working for me. Hence the horror show. How that was the easiest choice... I'm not sure I want to know.

Yeeeeeesh. Well done, but yeeeeesh. Also, splitting up there at the end? Oy. I really hope Sherlock's not going to regret going off without John in search of those missing bits...or vice versa.

I might join John in sampling a scotch after this. ;-)
