A Night of Effervescence.

May 29, 2007 15:31

Several representatives of my MLitt group (myself included) will be doing a reading as part of the West End Festival to celebrate the end of the MLitt course. The event is called, unsurprisingly, A Night of Effervescence, and it's FREE!

Will you be wearing the exciting new shoes? Cos I'd only go if there was a chance of seeing the shoes.

Of course. I may also be wearing the exciting new jeans and the exciting new Armani shirt. But only if I feel like showing off...

That might be too much. And I'm worried by the demand for cheese. Would a packet of Daiylea do or will I have to milk my own cow and start churning?

I'm sure Dairylea would be just fine. As long as you remove that sharp metal wrapper before you chuck it at anyone.

I was just thinking either yesterday or the day before "I wonder when Matt's end of term reading-thing will be, I must email him about that......." and lo! I log in to LJ to find it advertised!

I also might actually be able to come, I'm off to Pisa for work next week (woo hoo!) but get back to Prestwick on the 9th, so I could stick around in Glasgow for a night. Although this all depends on me recovering from the horrid lurgy I've been sent home from work with......

Will there be booze? Lots of booze? You know how I love booze ;o)

It really is awesome that you've done this!

There... might... be booze, although I can't promise anything. I'll certainly be going d'rinking afterwards.

Oh, and they're not kidding about bringing your own cheese.

Good luck with the reading! The poetry is great and I especially liked 'I did tell you' - do read it!

Cheers!

At the moment, that's the one that's winning, along with another couple. Probably Seisiún, cos that gives me an excuse to get the fiddle out and play the tune that goes with it. Just for the novelty value, y'understand...
