I haven't seen the film (heard a bunch of bad stuff about it), but that is a very interesting review! Thanks for the link. I do think how the film is marketed as "(male) geek fantasy" makes any reference to rape and sexual assault within it extremely problematic.
That's basically where I'm at with it. Especially since they went out of their way to make sure to go for the PG-13 rating.
And while adolescents could probably use some kind of critical looks at sexual abuse and the ways institutions perpetrate it, this sure as hell ain't it.
